August

Can you believe that it is already August? With summer winding down and temperatures reaching record highs, just about everyone is thinking of ways to cool down. Here are my top 3 favorite (and fabulous) ideas of how to cool down in this heat.

1. The beach. ahhh doesn't it just sounds amazing right now? My personal favorite beach is the fabulous coast of Fort Lauderdale, Fl. The white sands and blue water are to die for. And the people watching and trend spotting is so fun, too!

2. Schlitterbahn. America's favorite water park happens to be in our backyard! Now, there are 3 different Schlitterbahn locations, but my personal favorite is the one in the beautiful Texas hill country. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels welcomes nearly 900,000 guests annually!

3. Floating the river. Up in the hill countries, not too far from schlitterbahn, are some cool rivers that many Texans like to float on a hot summer day. The Guadalupe river is a personal favorite of mine, and so relaxing and fun!

When doing all of these fun summer activities, you cant forget the clothes! Bathing suits, shorts, and cotton are all a MUST in this ridiculous weather. Here are some of my favorites..

This two-piece with matching cover-up by Lily Pulitzer is a must have. Not only will you be staying cool, but you will be doing it in style!

And every fabulous beach outfit needs a fabulous, over sized hat! This look is channeling Samantha Jones, but you can find alike looks at Target and Macy's.

This bright and fun Vera Bradley towel will look great with any summer outfit!

What will you be wearing to keep cool?

The website recycledmonkey.com is a whole page about the art made by artist Jason Fritzsche. It is all great and beautiful reworks of items that were given a second chance! Here are some more images of his work.

Now, how on earth does he do that? Love it!

There is also an awesome sight, recycledart.com, that offers some amazing images and ideas as well!

Images like this precious, recycled, flower broach. Eco-friendly and fun!

Also, from recycledart.com, a backpack made totally out of Maruchan packages! I hope these pictures inspire you to go dumpster diving and make some awesome art!

Happy Friday everyone!!
